Shamwari, the 18 000 hectare, malaria free, private game reserve is situated at the end of the Garden Route in South Africa and only 40 minutes by road from Port Elizabeth.

This award winning internationally recognized reserve is about conserving a vanishing way of life and is the realization of one man's dream, and the success of many people's passion. It boasts five eco-systems, thus enabling the support of many forms of plant, animal, including the big 5 and bird life.

Four separate luxury lodges offer various accommodation options, namely Long Lee Manor, Bushmans River Lodge, Lobengula Lodge and Riverdene Lodge - all unique and beautifully decorated to cater for a variety of guests.

Guests can experience Khaya Lendaba, the African Arts and Culture Village, that offers an insight into the vibrancy of the various African cultures.

Two game drives, all meals and teas are part of the package. Shamwari is also home to the Born Free Foundation - a rescue center for African animals found in appalling conditions throughout the world. The Game Reserve will also feature unique wilderness trails in the not too distant future.
